I haven’t looked too much into the Imperial College studies (will do, thanks), but I will say that studies that calculate death rate based on age are more accurate than a general death rate, because it at least partially avoids the selection bias problem. I would trust a 10% death rate in the elderly more than a 3.4% death rate in the general population.
